- Janice F.Mulligan is a partner with the law firm of MULLIGAN & BANHAM in San Diego, California. Jan has devoted her career to helping consumers who have suffered serious and permanent injuries or wrongful death due to the negligence of others. Her particular expertise is in medical malpractice, personal injury, product liability and nursing home abuse cases. Jan has tried numerous jury, bench and arbitration cases successfully to verdict many times over the course of the past three decades and she has obtained scores of multimillion dollar verdicts and settlements for her clients. Born in Chicago, Illinois, Jan Mulligan attended the University of San Diego and St. Anthony's College at Oxford University in in Oxford, England. She then graduated with honors from the University of San Diego School of Law in 1981. Following a prestigious judicial internship with Hon.J. Clifford Wallace (U.S.Court of Appeals, Ninth Circuit), Ms. Mulligan worked in the California Attorney General's Office, Licensing Division, which prosecutes physicians for malfeasance. Jan has served in leadership positions in the American Bar Association ( she is currently a delegate to the House of Delegates on behalf of the Tort, Trial & Insurance Practice Section and Chair Emeritus of the Standing Committee on Medical Professional Liability Committee), former President of the San Diego Inn of Court, former Chair of the Lawyer's Club Judicial Endorsements Committee), former Board member of the San Diego County Bar Association, and Alumni Boards of the University of San Diego and University of San Diego School of Law. In addition to a full time law practice, Jan regularly teaches seminars involving various topics in both medicine and law to numerous legal and medical organizations including the American Bar Association and the University of California San Diego, School of Medicine. In 2010, Jan Mulligan began periodic sojourns to Eastern European to teach the Rule of Law to students in Latvia .Upcoming classes are scheduled in Hungary and Mongolia.
